Jeanna is an EMT at LifeNet who was inspired at a young age by her father to go into EMS.
“I first got my EMT certificate when I was 18. My father was a firefighter and a paramedic. I grew up in the fire department. Watching my father help people and save lives touched my soul in the most profound ways. From a young age, I wanted to follow in my father’s footsteps.”
Jeanna enjoys her career choice because it allows her to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
“For me, it’s not just about helping the patient but also about helping everyone involved. I enjoy being able to help calm someone’s fear in a emergent situation, whether it’s the patient or a family member. I enjoy being there to help make a bad or scary situation just a bit easier to handle. We all need someone to lean on from time to time,” she said.
The thing Jeanna likes most about working at LifeNet is the way the company is involved in the community.
“LifeNet works hard to educate the public in so many ways through things like CPR classes and stop the bleed training,” she said.
For others considering a career in EMS, Jeanna encourages them to always be open to change and growth.
“The field of EMS will always change. The process in which we care for and treat our patients today might work better with a few adjustments tomorrow. Always have compassion and patience, no matter what’s going on with the patient,” she said.
When Jeanna isn’t at work, you’ll find her spending time with family or on road trips.
“I love to grab my camera, jump in the car, and discover new things and new places with them,” she said.
