Kent is an EMT who has worked for LifeNet in Denison, Texas since 2019. He is currently enrolled in paramedic school.
“I grew up in the fire department where my dad was a firefighter. There were times I would go on calls with him, and that was the best thing ever. I started as a volunteer firefighter when I was 16, and I was fascinated by the medical calls and how the EMS crew was so knowledgeable and quick acting. I wanted to be able to do that,” Kent said, explaining why he picked a career in EMS.
Kent enjoys being able to make a difference in people’s lives and helping them in their time of need.
“I love every aspect of working for LifeNet,” he said.
If he had to pick the top things about working at LifeNet, he would pick: “the family feeling and the team atmosphere.”
For others considering a career in EMS, Kent offers this advice: “Do it! Although there are some hard days, you can’t beat the friendships and the memories you will make along the way.”
When he isn’t at work or in paramedic school, Kent enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar and drums, and serving as a volunteer firefighter on the Whitewright Fire Department.
