Employee Spotlight: Lacy Hankins
Division: Hot Springs, AR
Lacy has been part of the LifeNet family since 2016 and is a paramedic in our Hot Springs Division.
“My compassion and interest for EMS began in 2012 when I became an EMR with a rural volunteer fire department,” she said. “I truly enjoyed helping people and knew that EMS was my calling. In 2015, I became an EMT and knew that I had to get my Paramedic license next. I truly love helping people and being there for them in their time of need.”
There are other things Lacy enjoys about her career choice, too.
“I love that every call is never the same,” she said. “I also love that I get the opportunity to meet so many people and possibly help make a positive difference in the lives of others. This career also reminds me to be thankful for the life I have.”
Lacy also appreciates the opportunity working at LifeNet has given her to grow.
“Working at LifeNet has given me the opportunity to advance in my career. I love the extra education that is provided and the amazing advanced equipment we are given to work with. It’s a good feeling to be a part of something so great,” she said.
For others considering a career in EMS, Lacy offers this advice: “For those that enjoy helping people or even have an interest in the medical field, I strongly encourage you to get involved in EMS. In EMS, you learn so much about patient care, and you get the opportunity to provide care at the beginning of someone’s emergency. There is so much enjoyment in helping people. EMS is definitely a life changing career.”
When she isn’t at work, Lacy enjoys spending time with her “wonderful” husband, their “amazing” kids, and their “awesome” naked cats. She also enjoys fishing and camping at the lake.
