The LifeNet Air medical crew spent Thanksgiving morning at Spring Lake Park in Texarkana for the 5th Annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot.

The event is a fundraiser for Community Healthcore, an organization that provides programs for individuals with developmental disabilities.  Each year, weather and call volume permitting, LifeNet Air attends the event so that children can tour the helicopter.

In addition to the helicopter, other events include a 5K Run and 1 mile walk where participants are encouraged to run in a turkey costume. There is a Gobble Trot for 7-10 years old and a Giblet Trot for 4-6 years old.  Additionally, event goers enjoy participating in a Turkey Costume Contest, a Turkey Call Contest and a Mascot Wobble.

LifeNet would like to thank our air crew who worked on Thanksgiving Day:

  • Pilot, Cat Yelle
  • Flight Medic, Gary Seifert
  • Flight Nurse, Lou Murphy
