Scott has been an EMT at LifeNet since 2013.
“I became an EMT after leaving a 20 year career so I could be able to help people and have everyday be a new experience,” he said, reflecting on why he started a career in EMS.
Scott enjoys the variety a career as an EMT affords him.
“What I enjoy the most is that everyday and every call is something different,” he said. “I also enjoy hearing both the stories from our elderly patients and also knowing that sometimes the best thing we can do for someone is listen, offer a smile, and get them to smile.”
Scott also enjoys the camaraderie he has found working at LifeNet.
“My favorite parts of working at LifeNet include the friendships that I’ve formed and the amazing stories that some of my patients have shared,” he said.
For others considering a career in EMS, Scott offers this advice: “Know that you will never quit learning. Also know that it can be the hardest but most rewarding thing you could ever do.”
When Scott is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, family, and friends. He also likes playing cards or pool, watching movies, and riding motorcycles.
