For more than 20 years, Derek has worked as a paramedic in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
“I enjoy helping others, whether it’s a patient or a coworker,” he said.
When he isn’t working at LifeNet, Derek keeps busy with family life.
“My family has a farming operation,” he said. “I also enjoy hunting and spending time with family. My grandson has added greatly to the family in the last couple of years.”
Three words sum up his advice for someone considering a career in EMS.
“Follow your heart,” he said.
